Carlos Gonzalez-Ballestero Joins TUW as Assistant Professor

After over six years with our group, Carlos Gonzalez-Ballestero has moved to the Vienna University of Technology (TUW) after accepting a tenure-track assistant professor position at the Institute for Theoretical Physics.

Carlos joined our group in May 2017, having obtained his PhD in Condensed Matter Physics and Nanotechnology from the group of Prof. F. J. García-Vidal at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Shortly after his arrival, he was awarded a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship. Following this fellowship, Carlos remained with the group as a Senior PostDoc until May 2022. At that point, he started his own research group, which our group sponsored.

During this period, our team greatly benefited from Carlos's research capabilities, enthusiasm, and teamwork skills. We feel fortunate to have had Carlos with us, and we are delighted that he will continue to develop his research group in Vienna, concentrating on magnonics and exploring new avenues in levitodynamics.

We wish Carlos and his team the best of luck and look forward to future collaborations!
