Title: Magnetically ordered and spin liquid phases of the square kagome lattice
Abstract: Quantum spin liquids (QSLs) are exotic phases of matter arising from geometric frustration or long range interactions in antiferromagnetic systems. They are characterised by a highly disordered ground state and no magnetic order. QSLs are of strong interest because of their fascinating properties, like nonlocal excitations or topological properties. The kagome lattice (a lattice with triangles inducing geometric frustration) has been intensively studied by the community to find a QSL. In this talk, I will present my research on the square kagome lattice, a less studied cousin of the kagome lattice. Various methods, analytical and computational, have been used to determine the nature and the boundary of the phases in this model.
