We are happy to welcome Davide as a new PhD student in the group. Davide joined the team on May 17th and will work towards macroscopic quantum superpositions within the Q-Xtreme ERC Synergy Grant.

Davide pursued his Physics studies at the University of Bologna, Italy. In 2018, he obtained his bachelor degree presenting a thesis on the Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen paradox and Bell inequalities written under the supervision of Prof. Elisa Ercolessi. In 2020 he started a research project with prof. Samuele Sanna (University of Bologna) and Prof. Vesna F. Mitrovic (Brown University) which consisted in the developement of a software for the simulation of nuclear magnetic/quadrupole resonance (NMR/NQR) experiments: the purpose of the project was to find new methods of investigation of condensed matter inspired by the protocols of NMR/NQR quantum computation. The open-source software he developed served the needs of further research projects led by groups at Bologna and Brown Universities, and has got the opportunity to be presented at the APS March Meeting in 2021.

Throughout his studies, Davide developed a deep interest in a type of theoretical research closely related to the experimental one, delving into the field of theoretical modelling and numerical simulation.
