Title: Time-of-flight Tomography of Single Atom Motion

Abstract: Neutral atoms in optical tweezers are a burgeoning platform in quantum science. In our apparatus we have explored multiple facets of control afforded by optical tweezers by harnessing single atoms Raman-cooled to their motional ground state. I will give some background on our experiment and discuss our most recent experiments that use time-of-flight imaging for quantum tomography of the motion of a single trapped particle. We prepare atoms in n=1 and n=1 Fock states using tunneling. Then through a combination of in-trap evolution and measurement of the time-of-flight momentum space distribution, we reconstruct quadrature data for the n_x=1 state that reveals a non-classical negative Wigner function.
