Andrea Navoni joins the group as a PhD student
We are happy to welcome Andrea as a new PhD student in the group. Andrea joined the team on February 1st and will work towards macroscopic quantum superpositions within the Q-Xtreme ERC Synergy Grant.
Andrea studied physics at the University of Milan. He earned his bachelor's degree in 2021 with a thesis on the estimation of quantum parameters in collisional models, under the supervision of Professor M. G. Genoni and Professor A. Smirne.
In 2023, he started a project on the topic of contextuality in quantum mechanics, once again under the supervision of Professor A.Smirne. The goal of the project was to develop an invasive classical model capable of reproducing contextual scenarios and to understand the extent to which this was possible.
Through this project, Andrea became deeply interested in the relationship between classical and quantum systems and what fundamentally distinguishes the two.
